LG Electronics USA, The Better Business Bureau – Chicago, and Vintage Tech Recyclers
Do you have a TV taking up closet space? Are your junk drawers filled with cell phones and other gadgets? If so, please join us on Saturday June 22nd, at Chicago’s United Center, 1901 W. Madison – Lot E from 9am-1pm (gates close at 12:45pm).
The Better Business Bureau – Chicago, Vintage Tech Recyclers and LG Electronics USA have joined forces to bring to a free solution for responsible electronics recycling to area residents.
To assure responsible recycling, the LG Electronics Recycling Program works with e-Stewards-certified recyclers, like Vintage Tech Recyclers, a locally based, e-Stewards, R2, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified electronics recycling company. Vintage Tech Recyclers provides IT asset management, responsible recycling solutions, and hard drive security.
Vintage Tech Recyclers ensures to all customers that all electronics are properly handled and recycled and all hard drives are protected using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping.
The electronics recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (gates closing at 12:45pm) at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison Street Lot E. Residents are encouraged to stay in their vehicles as Vintage Tech Recyclers personnel and volunteers will assist in unloading material.
According to LG Electronics USA, by recycling old electronic products, useful materials such as glass, plastic and metal can be re-used in the manufacture of other products. Recycling electronics minimizes the amount of hazardous waste in the landfills and the extraction of new raw materials from the earth. Equally significant, replacing older TVs and computer monitors with new ENERGY STAR® qualified models helps consumers save energy and money while saving the planet.
Items accepted include:
Computers, Laptops, Monitors, LCD’s, Cell Phones, Printers, Scanners, Modems, CD drives, Cables, Keyboards, Mice, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, Camcorders, Cameras, Game Players and joysticks; Telephones, Pagers, Answering Machines, Typewriters, Calculators, adding machines, Fax machines, Copiers and Postage meters, Vacuum Cleaners, Toaster Ovens, Microwaves.
Items NOT ACCEPTED:
Light bulbs/Fluorescents, Mercury containing devices, Alkaline batteries, , Household chemicals, toys, books, paint.
